We are Fanny, Pierre and Te Mana, three ocean lovers, fascinated by this untamable and mystical universe.
Captains and guides, we are specialized in humpback whales encounters since 7 years.
These majestic creatures occupy an indescribable place in our lives and in our hearts.
blue invitation was created in order to take you meeting them in the best conditions.
A call from the soul and thousands of encounters as magical as intenses, have developed our knowledge and skills.
The understanding of the whales’ behavior is essential to our work.

blue invitation is specialized in private expeditions to meet the humpback whales
The idea is simple, each exploration is precious and unique
We aim to allow you to meet these wonderful creatures in the best conditions.
We only propose private tours offering you privacy and adaptability for this unique experience and to ensure a greater safety.
Our custom-made private explorations are adapted to nature’s uniqueness, wild animal behaviors and you.
Each of us has a unique relationship with the ocean. This is why we believe in the importance of customization to share the best possible experience.
We always seek privacy in our encounters which, from experience, is beneficial for both the animals and our guests.
We offer 2 excursions per day, in shifts in order to be as alone as possible in the ocean:
• Morning: from 7.00 am to 11.00 am
• Afternoon: from 12.30 pm to 4.30 pm
Our offer is aimed at passionate individuals, couples, groups of friends or families.
Our experience and competences allow us to propose these observations to the general public as well as to professionals in the marine, scientific and cinematographic fields.
We voluntarily choose to welcome a maximum of 4 people on board in order to preserve intimacy and cohesion in the water.
Animals are naturally more confident in the presence of small groups.
Conscious of the pure and precious nature of each experience, we deeply love exploring the ocean on our own. The search for animals is an integral part of our profession, it makes the encounter all more authentic, wonderful and sacred.
It is important to understand that this search can last several hours, each day is a full surprise.
The comfort and peacefulness of these giants is and will always remain our priority while we do everyday our maximum to offer you the best conditions of observation.
Regarding our boat, we chose the Falcon 760, in order to make our experience more intimate and to ensure enhanced safety.
This semi-rigid vessel has been chosen because it provides easiness for the observers to slide in the water and allows discretion,
reactivity and efficiency.
Light and powerful, it is ideal for exploration and discovery thanks to its ergonomics.
Big, comfortable and elegant, it offers a top-of-the-range service. With a length of 7,60 meters, it offers seats at the front and at the back,
as well as a sunbathing area.
Cleverly combining adventure and comfort, it is perfectly suited to our explorations.
Finally this type of boat provides a very good stability, greatly limiting seasickness.
An experienced guide will escort you and ensure your safety during each activity in the water
Our team is made up of residents of the island of Moorea, qualified, experienced and specialists in humpback whales underwater encounters.
To choose blue invitation is choosing a team showing sensitivity, with deep values of truth, love and respect for all the living.
On board, you will find all the mandatory safety equipment to go in the water:
fins, masks, snorkels, wetsuits and a collective flotation equipment.
We make sure to have quality gears for a more pleasant experience.
We propose to each of our guests individual wetsuits, they protect against stinging small animals and offer more buoyancy, providing comfort and safety.

From August to November, blue invitation takes you to meet the whales
The island of Moorea is one of the rare places in the world where it is possible to meet Humpback whales in the water and swim with them, when their behavior allows it.
Beside them, time stands still, each person who has been in their presence will affirm it, the notion of space and time changes, more than ever, only the present moment counts.
In order to fully honor their presence and ensure respectful encounters, we have chosen to dedicate our explorations entirely to them.
We can meet different individuals, with naturally distinct characters, but also witness countless behaviors, relating to different phases of their lives, making each observation so unique.
We are very honored to take you meeting them in full consciousness.

Among the most complex, long and powerful songs of the animal kingdom, we are undeniably attracted by the song of whales, still filled with mysteries.
blue invitation collects, studies and archives the songs emitted by males in French Polynesia, in the hope of understanding their true role and impact within their population but also on other animals surrounding them.
We are equipped with a hydrophone on-board allowing us to listen to the many sounds emitted by cetaceans, a fundamental feature to understand these animals.

Everywhere in Polynesia, women and men come together and work for the protection of eco-systems through the establishment of rahui, marine sanctuaries, marine protected areas, the realization of scientific studies and the existence of a large number of associations.

We comply with humility to this dynamic and contribute to the cetaceans protection and all wildlife species through observation, study,
education and awareness.
Exploring a marine sanctuary, in which many species are protected (whales, dolphins, sharks, turtles, etc…), gives us important responsibilities.
Having the minimum impact on the environment is one of our main priorities.
During our explorations, we strive to collect useful information for scientific research, local associations and for the Direction of the environment of French polynesia.

French Polynesia is one of the rare places in the world where you meet humpback whales while swimming with them.
It’s not only a luck but a privilege that makes Tahiti and its islands shine worldwide.
To make this magnificent and precious experience sustainable, we will be strict with the rules of approach, the sliding in the water and the good conduct when around these large cetaceans.
We rigorously comply with the rules established by the Direction of the environment of French Polynesia.
These great migrators honor us with their presence in our ocean for an essential step in their life cycle (rest, socialization, reproduction, birthing and first months
of life of the calves). Conscious of that, it is therefore essential for us to meet them with the utmost respect, only when their behavior and their position allows it.
To act with empathy in our observations is essential for us.
Having the chance to observe these animals underwater is extraodinary. We will do our best to meet them, however it is important to be aware that if all the elements are not gathered we will not be able to slide into the water to join them.

To take you observing wild animals with ethics, involves on our part a deep respect for them and the environment in which they evolve.
Sensitive to animal life and the sustainability of its habitat, we chose 10 years ago to opt for a vegan lifestyle.
Why?
Doing our job with the greatest respect implies a real desire to protect the animals that we observe everyday.
Animal agriculture and overfishing are the first and most devastating causes of the destruction of the oceans.
Veganism is the true ecology in action, it demonstrates the virtue and fundamental values of the human who practices it.
A vegan diet is the most powerful action to protect the ocean.
Beyond the duty of protection which is incumbent upon us, it is a desire of harmonization of living beings that guides us.
The physical nature is only the envelope of the soul. We consider animal life to be of the same value as human life and we are deeply conscious of the interconnection that exists between beings.

French Polynesia is made up of many islands whose food resources differ according to their constitutions.
It is important to raise all our understanding and respect for individual and selective fishing, taking little, consciously, and working with respect.
Island life is the exception to the values that veganism advocates when this taking is done in a thoughtful and honored way for the sole purpose of meeting the vital needs of families and community.

• No animal feeding (no feeding/ no smelling). We do not want to interfere in the feeding behavior of wild species,
much less attract them to us for tourism purposes.
The observation of wild animals will remain so, wild.
• No harmful sunscreen for the environment (UV top recommended)
• No single-use-plastic
All published photos and videos were made in the context of approaches complying to local regulations.
Animals are curious, however it is them who sometimes decide to come closer than the 30 meters distance that we set.
